International students who are interested in attending the UW Tacoma but do not meet our requirements for first-year admission can consider attending community college first and then transfer to UW Tacoma.

UW Tacoma has guaranteed conditional admission agreements with the schools listed below. These agreements guarantee your admission to UW Tacoma (but not to a specific major or program) as long as you complete an approved associate degree, achieve a 2.75 overall GPA, and meet the English proficiency requirement. Even with the guaranteed conditional admissions agreements, students are still required to apply for general admission and follow the application processes established for all students.
