If you're not sure whether college is for you, how to decide, or how to prepare, we encourage you to consider the possibility. Attending college is a worthwhile investment in your future and may be more accessible than you think!
We are dedicated to helping Puget Sound residents realize the benefits of a college degree and options available. Partnering with school districts, the community and military contacts, we are creating pathways to the promise of a bright future through higher education.
Resources for K-12 Students
If you attend school in one of the participating school districts, specific resources are available to help you evaluate career and higher-education options. High schools in the Pathways to Promise partner districts provide programs tailored for each school and may involve events such as workshops on how to start a career or college search, or sessions on admissions requirements and how to complete college application and financial aid forms. Check with your teacher or counseling office for details.
The following school districts are participating in Pathways to Promise: Auburn, Bethel, Federal Way, Franklin Pierce, Kent, Puyallup, Steilacoom, Tacoma and Tahoma.
Resources Through Community and Military Partners
- Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound (Community Engagement Matching Scholarships available for students who participate.)
- King County Housing Authority
- Joint Base Lewis-McChord (Community Engagement Matching Scholarships available for active military and veteran prospective students.)
As an urban-serving institution, our goal is to support partners who are developing a college and career-ready culture in the South Puget Sound. These partnerships ensure that potential students, and the organizations that serve them, understand how to identify and prepare for opportunities available after graduating from high school.
