Regarding a recent safety concern
This week, we were informed of alleged behaviors and threats by an individual in an off-campus incident. This reached a level of concern that prompted the activation of UW’s SafeCampus threat assessment team, and Campus Safety & Security took actions to ensure the safety of our campus community.
I want to assure you that there was no direct threat to UW Tacoma or any other UW campus at any point during this incident. We continue to work with SafeCampus and local authorities to monitor and assess the situation to ensure that all appropriate precautions are being taken.
Campus safety remains our highest priority in all circumstances. We take every threat seriously and maintain a strong university response process to assess situations and respond appropriately.
The added stresses that often emerge as we approach the end of the school year can weigh heavily on us all. Those in need of support can reach out to the resources listed below.
