Tania studied abroad in Vietnam as part of the Global Business in Vietnam study abroad program.

My time in Vietnam transformed the way I view the world and my place in it. Immersed in a culture rich with history, warmth, and generosity, I discovered not only new perspectives but also deep connections, formed through every shared meal, meaningful conversation, and moment of kindness. Vietnam taught me that growth begins when we embrace unfamiliar places with open minds and open hearts.

There's no replacement for in-person cultural enrichment. I will carry these experiences for the rest of my life and through the lives I hope to inspire.

Aleece Thurman

Aleece studied abroad in Canada as part of the Exploring Tribal Sovereignty and the Environment Through Indigenous Lens study abroad program.

My experience in British Columbia, Canada was comprised of kindred company, cultural teachings of the Sto:lo First Nation, and traditional art and elements incorporated into sited/events that I was fortunate enough to experience. Such installments, like Indigenous gardens, Indigenous Student Centers across UFV campuses, a lovely fashion show featuring First Nation Artists, and a Coastal Jam presented a respect of cultural values within and out of the community and reciprocity at the core; an example, I will never forget the immerse warmth, stories, and laughter that my cohort shared in Abbotsford.
