Korean Language Lesson Facilitator
Hello! My name is Sungmin Cha, and I am currently studying Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics at the UWT.
I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea and I spend my entire life time in South Korea. I moved to a different region almost every year due to my military family background. I'm a free spirit who loves traveling and playing sports like frisbee and badminton. I absolutely love music which is a big part of my life. One of my favorite ways to relieve stress is taking a walk in the crisp night air with music.
From a young age, I had a deep interest in video games. I started modifying game files and developing custom mods, which sparked my passion for programming. During middle school, I began living independently and took up video editing as a job. Editing videos for gaming, fashion, and talk-based YouTubers allowed me to stay up-to-date with trending memes and pop culture in Korea.
In late 2020, I moved to the United States for the first time. At that time, I was attending a university in Korea but decided to transfer to the U.S. to follow my family. Due to COVID-19, I spent two years isolated at home, during which I played FPS games extensively. While taking online courses at a community college, I briefly worked as a pro team player in esports.
In 2023, I returned to Korea to fulfill my mandatory military service, serving in the Republic of Korea Army. After completing my service in July 2024, I returned to the U.S. and continued my studies.
Currently, I work as a Korean Language Facilitator, and I genuinely enjoy sharing my experiences and introducing people to the world I have lived in!
