UW Tacoma scholarships

Freshmen only

  • First Step Scholarship: All legal residents of Washington state with an application for admission received by January 15 are automatically considered for this scholarship; no additional materials are necessary.
  • Ben B. Cheney Foundation Scholarship: All legal residents of Washington state with an application for admission received by January 15 are automatically considered for this scholarship; no additional materials are necessary. This scholarship is based on merit only; financial need is not considered.
  • Great Futures Scholarship: In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound

Transfer only

  • Transfer Priority Scholarship: All legal residents of Washington state with an application for admission received by February 15 are automatically considered for this scholarship; no additional materials are necessary. This scholarship is based on merit only; financial need is not considered.
  • Next Step Scholarship
  • Hites Family Community College Scholarship: The fund was specifically created, as a partnership between the Tacoma Community College Foundation and UW Tacoma, to remove financial barriers which often prevent students from continuing their education beyond the associate degree. The scholarship is $7,500 per year for up to two years, available to a graduating or transferring Tacoma Community College student for continued study at UW Tacoma. Each scholarship will be awarded for a period of two (2) consecutive academic years, up to six (6) quarters. Deadline: May 18, 2012
