Resources for Student Well-being and Success

We know that access to food, housing, healthcare, and other basic needs is essential to your well-being and academic success. To help ensure you have the support you need, we are sharing an overview of the key resources available to you on the UW Tacoma campus.
General Support
- The Office of Student Advocacy & Support (OSAS) provides support to students in overcoming any barriers and challenges to their academic success. This includes assistance with housing and food stability, support in accessing healthcare, emergency housing, food, and financial support (if eligible), case management, general resource and referral for on- and off-campus resources, and much more. To access services, please stop by MAT 203, email stusuppt@uw.edu, or complete a referral.
- HuskiesCare is UWT’s online resource hub where students can search for on- and off-campus resources to meet their needs.
Food
- The Pantry supports all UWT students by providing free, nutritious, and culturally relevant food, along with essential hygiene items. Located in WPH 010. Autumn hours: Tuesday & Wednesday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.; closed on Mondays.
- The Cupboard “Hungry Now, Eat Now!” provides immediate, no-cost meals and snacks to students who are experiencing food insecurity and do not have adequate resources to last them through the week. Located in MAT 204, open daily for Husky Hour (12 – 1:30 p.m.), or as needed.
- Nourish Mobile Food Bank helps to supplement campus food resources by providing free food to students and community members in Pierce County. On campus every Thursday, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the TPS Lot.
Housing
- Housing & Residence Life offers on-campus housing in Court 17. Visit the website for rates and fees or to apply.
- UWT’s Off-Campus Housing Marketplace provides students with one platform to search for off-campus housing and find UWT roommates.
Health & Wellbeing
- TimelyCare provides students with 24/7 access to free virtual health care services. This also includes TalkNow, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything. Health insurance is NOT required.
- Psychological & Wellness Services (PAWS) provides confidential mental health counseling and related services for currently enrolled UWT students at no cost. Located in MAT 354. Please see their website for instructions on scheduling an appointment.
- Confidential Advocate offers free advocacy and support for students affected by sexual assault, rape, relationship violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual harassment and other related experiences. The confidential advocate can help you explore your rights and options and get you connected to resources.
