Dr. Haluk Demirkan receives UW Tacoma’s 2021 Distinguished Research Award!

Dr. Haluk Demirkan, Professor & Assistant Dean for Analytics Innovations, is the recipient of the 2021 Distinguished Research Award at UW Tacoma. Dr. Demirkan has an extensive publication record, with research focusing on data analysis, artificial intelligence, and technology innovation for business analytics.

His outreach and work with corporate partners and business communities demonstrates leadership, external recognition, and practice utilization of Dr. Demirkan’s scholarship. The committee also recognized his concurrent leadership and program building efforts, including the integration of students in scholarship and community engagement. Dr. Demirkan also received the Community Engagement Award in Institutional and Systems Analytics with Dr. Margo Bergman, presented by the Office of Community Partnerships.
