Welcome Days: How to Participate
Welcome Days offers students a variety of ways to meet new people, learn about UW Tacoma, and get immersed into UW Tacoma and Husky culture. To new Huskies, welcome to UW Tacoma! To returning Huskies, welcome back!
Are you looking to find new friends? Are you more interested in advancing your career preparation? There are many opportunities that will help you achieve your individual goals, allowing you to integrate into our community as you deem fit for yourself. Welcome Days is a roadmap to your success, but the path is yours to create for yourself.
Welcome Days activities are designed around 4 pillars. These categories communicate what a specific activity will provide to you and the experiences you can expect to gain. Many activities will meet the objectives of more than one (and even all 4) of these pillars.
Connect at Welcome Days

Events within the "Connect" category will allow students to establish a better understanding of their skills, strengths, traits, and more. You will also be able to connect with and learn how to make use of on-campus and off-campus resources and groups. These events will help you to find and fortify your connections to the UW Tacoma community and create a sense of belonging.
Discover at Welcome Days

Events within the "Discover" category will support your learning outside of the classroom. You will be encouraged to seek an enhanced understanding of the world around you and your places in it through the consideration of beliefs and values, respectful discussion, and reflection.
Socialize at Welcome Days

Events within the "Socialize" category will give you the opportunity to take a break to interact with your peers and classmates, build up new and established relationships, and to have fun. These events will provide you with a better understanding of how play can be included in your priorities throughout college and life.

Events within the "Succeed" category will help you further develop the skills you will need at UW Tacoma and in your future pursuits. These events will help you refine your abilities and expand your definition of success in a supportive environment.
